Why should I trust you?

Liquicert finds a path from a trusted organization or individual to a claim.

In a world where misinformation is a growing problem, we need better tools to verify what we trust and why. Attestations like EAS and C2PA solve part of this problem by verifying that our data wasn't tampered with. But even after the data is verified, it takes more work to figure out what that means for my application. An attestation can prove that some data is from a given source, say Alice. But why should I trust Alice?

In practice, we all have a small number of individuals and organizations that we trust on a given set of topics. Generally we know who to trust because we follow a trust path from those trusted sources to a claim. Liquicert lets us track our trust networks on the blockchain, and apply it to data in web applications.

Some ways you might find this useful:

• For environmental products like renewable energy or carbon credits: show that your credits are trusted by a third party organization (example)

• Tracking impact with Hypercerts: demonstrate how that impact was measured by embedding a Liquicert badge directly on the certificate

• E-commerce: foster user trust by displaying a certification on your product listing

• Standards and certification organizations: easily publish and manage a certification that can be placed on any website
